GoTo Financial was founded by Ian Goldey, a seasoned financial professional with over 30 years of experience—13 in senior roles at major wealth management firms and 17 as a Registered Investment Advisor. Known as a financial concierge for middle-class millionaires, Mr. Goldey established GoTo Financial to bridge the gap between clients and professionals, fostering collaboration that benefits all parties.

Mr. Goldey has served as Senior Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager, with a deep understanding of the needs of traders and decision-makers. He has played a key role in enhancing back-office trading and operational systems, having served on the technology committees of all three financial firms with which he has been affiliated—Smith Barney, UBS Financial, and Charles Schwab Inc.

An entrepreneur from an early age, Mr. Goldey founded multiple companies and filed his first patent at just 11 years old. He is a strong advocate for entrepreneurs and the hard-working individuals who fuel economic growth. Committed to balance between work, community, and family, Ian actively participates in charitable initiatives, volunteers his expertise, and is a passionate gardener, music collector, and mentor to those in need.

Adam’s professional journey is defined by a progression through some of the industry’s most respected institutions, giving him a unique 360-degree view of the financial landscape:

  • Institutional Foundation: He began his leadership path as a College Unit Director with Northwestern Mutual, where he focused on talent development and the fundamentals of financial risk management.
  • Private Client Expertise: He later served as a Chase Private Client Banker with JP Morgan Chase, where he managed the intricate needs of high-net-worth individuals, balancing complex banking requirements with long-term investment goals.
  • Strategic Portfolio Management: Prior to becoming a partner at GoTo Financial, Adam served as a Wealth Advisor and Portfolio Manager with Western International Securities, where he honed his skills in active market analysis and customized portfolio construction.

 

Innovation in Financial Technology

In addition to his work at GoTo Financial, Adam is a Co-founder of Asset Planet, a financial software company.  This role allows him to stay at the forefront of financial technology, utilizing advanced tools to help both consumers and professionals gain a clearer picture of their total financial health. This “tech-forward” approach is a cornerstone of the service he and his partner, Ian, provide at GoTo Financial.

 

Commitment to Community

A resident of Ventura, Adam believes in the value of mentorship and community engagement. When he is not in the office, he serves as a volleyball coach for 7th and 8th-grade girls at Rise in Ventura. His coaching philosophy—focusing on discipline, growth, and teamwork—mirrors his approach to financial advising: helping others build the skills and strategies necessary to pursue their long-term goals.

Adam recently celebrated his 50th birthday, a milestone that reinforces his commitment to helping families plan for multi-generational stability and retirement transitions. He lives in Ventura with his wife and their three daughters.
